The Single Technical Point of Contact Model in Turnkey Electrical Contracting

When one technical point of contact manages every electrical scope from site survey to commissioning, the owner's coordination burden and interface risks disappear. Here is how the six-step turnkey model works.

What is the single technical point of contact model?

The single technical point of contact model is a delivery approach in which one engineering team takes end-to-end responsibility for the entire electrical scope of a project: design, panel manufacturing, cable infrastructure, installation and testing. When an owner contracts separately with different firms for each of these packages, the job of managing the interfaces between them stays with the owner. Under the single point of contact model, the owner deals with the same team at every stage of the project.

For international investors and EPC main contractors building in Türkiye, the model has a further advantage: the team that designs and installs the electrical works is also the team that prepares the test records, as-built documentation and acceptance files that local procedures require, so nothing falls between separate contractors at handover.

How do the six steps from site survey to commissioning work?

At Miratek, the turnkey process runs in six steps: site survey and needs analysis, engineering design, procurement and manufacturing, site installation, testing and commissioning, and handover and documentation. In the first step, the site is inspected and the existing infrastructure and load profile are evaluated. In the second, single-line diagrams, panel designs and cable routes are prepared. In the third, LV/MV panels are manufactured in our workshop and equipment procurement is scheduled.

The fourth step is site installation, covering cable infrastructure, busbar systems, grounding and equipment installation. The fifth step is testing and commissioning: insulation, continuity and functional tests are completed and the system is energized in a controlled sequence. The sixth step is handover and documentation, in which test reports, as-built drawings and operating documents are delivered to the owner.

What does the single point of contact model deliver for the client?

The most tangible benefit is that the coordination burden disappears. Interface problems, such as a mismatch between the panel manufacturer and the installation crew or a dispute over responsibility between the cable contractor and the testing firm, are not passed on to the owner; these risks are resolved within a single accountable party.

Because design decisions and field execution sit within the same team, revisions are handled quickly, the schedule becomes more predictable, and there is no ambiguity about who is responsible during the warranty period. When an issue arises, the owner has one number to call.

How does Miratek apply the single point of contact model?

Miratek Elektrik applies the turnkey model as its standard way of working in medium-voltage (MV) contracting, transformer substations, solar power plant (SPP) and battery energy storage system (BESS) projects, and industrial plant electrification across Türkiye. On every project, a dedicated technical lead assigned to the owner follows the entire process, from the initial site survey meeting to provisional acceptance. Our goal is a project setup in which the owner can focus on its own operations while the electrical scope moves forward from a single source, fully documented.

This way of working is backed by more than 15 years of experience, 1,300+ completed projects, in-house LV/MV panel manufacturing with 340+ panels produced, and management systems certified to ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does the single technical point of contact model deliver for the client?+

Because every discipline from site survey to commissioning runs under a single responsibility, the coordination burden disappears; schedule, budget and quality are managed from one point.

What steps make up the turnkey electrical contracting process?+

It consists of six main steps: site survey and needs analysis, engineering design, procurement and manufacturing, site installation, testing and commissioning, and handover and documentation. Maintenance and operational support can continue after handover.

Can a single electrical contractor work under an EPC main contractor?+

Yes. The model works both directly for owners and for EPC main contractors that place the complete electrical package with one specialist; in both cases a single team owns the electrical scope, its interfaces and its test and commissioning records.
